Bendigo local, Bri Hamblin, is one of our Property Managers here at McKean McGregor, and she took some time to share with us her experiences growing up in Bendigo, her career, and what she loves about her job.
Tell us about growing up in Bendigo?
I was always involved in so many sports as a child and I think Bendigo has a lot to offer in the community for children of all ages which is really good to see. Bendigo also has the country town feel whilst still having a large variety of amenities.
How long have you worked at McKean McGregor?
I have been at MM for just over a year now however time flies when you're having fun so it feels like a lot longer. Everyone says it, but we really do have a great team
What do you love about being a Property Manager?
I love the diversity of my role, no two days are ever the same. I enjoy the fact that I'm not in the office all day, there is never a dull moment in Property Management, especially at MM. We’re a team full of pretty vivacious people so it makes for a fun time when we are in the office
What career advice would you give to your younger self?
Never settle in a job just because it's easy or secure income, try new things till you find a job that you love every aspect of.
Most valuable career lesson you have learnt?
The people you work with have more of an impact on your life/ job than you realise.
Do you have a mantra or a personal motto?
She’ll be right… From personal experience, I wouldn't recommend it though
How would we find you spending your weekends?
Often on the netball court, soccer field or on the D-Floor and if I’m not doing any of this I'll be spending time with my dogs and my family.
Where’s your favourite place to eat in Bendigo?
Probably the Social, because the food comes with a seriously good strawberry daiquiri.
If you could win an Olympic medal for any sport (real or fake) what would it be?
Having the shortest attention span or being able to get distracted by absolutely nothing.
What’s your most used phone app?
TikTok, I'm guilty of spending an embarrassing amount of time scrolling through it.
What piece of advice would you give someone looking to become a Property Manager?
Don’t take anything personally, and most days you will feel like you are everything but a property manager but 10/10 would recommend it.
